Publications I and II produce the school yearbook (The Flight) for all students and faculty. Students are responsible for all writing, editing, graphics, and photography in the yearbook. Students also sell ads to local businesses to offset the yearbook cost.
Film Production (CP) – 10th – 12th (offered if student interest/schedule allow)

Prerequisite: none
Film Production guides students through the process of studying film history, script writing, and character development. Students will also learn about storytelling, cinematographic elements, video editing, special effects, and film promotion. The culminating project will be a film submitted to the Louisiana Film Prize, Jr through ARTBREAK.

Film Studies explores the history and elements of cinema as a mass medium and an art form. The course analyzes visual language and film style, and cinematic codes. Emphasis is on film analysis, films as historical pieces, and understanding the ways that films are produced and directed and how they function expressively will be the primary focus of this course. The examination of translations of literature to film will also be included in this course.
Financial Planning (CP) – 9th -12th
0.5 creditFinancial Planning is a one semester elective offered to prepare our students for the practical math solutions they will need in their day to day life. Whether it's preparing their FAFSA application for college financial aid, cooking in the kitchen, applying for their first credit card, or simply balancing their checkbook, this course will prepare them for their everyday math needs.
Speech (CP) – 9th – 12th

Speech is a one-semester introductory course dealing with the way people communicate. The course will cover all aspects of the communication process, including verbal and nonverbal communication, listening, and public speaking. The class will also study the effects of social media in today’s society. All students will be able to recognize and apply methods learned in class to become more effective communicators.
Financial Literacy (CP) 9th

Louisiana requires each student complete a one-unit Financial Literacy course as a requirement for high school graduation. The topics covered by the course shall include but need not be limited to the following: (a) Types of bank accounts offered, opening and managing a bank account, and assessing the quality of a depository institution's services. (b) Balancing a checkbook. (c) Basic principles of money management, such as spending, credit, credit scores, and managing debt, including retail and credit card debt. (d) Completing a loan application. (e) Receiving an inheritance and related implications. (f) Basic principles of personal insurance policies. (g) Computing federal income taxes. (h) Local tax assessments. (i) Computing interest rates by various mechanisms. (j) Simple contracts. (k) Contesting an incorrect billing statement. (l) Types of savings and investments. (m) State and federal laws concerning finance.
