Loyola College Preparatory School has a tradition of excellence dating back to 1902. Founded as St. John’s College to provide young men in Shreveport the opportunity to grow and learn in a faith-based community, Loyola expanded in 1986 to become the only Catholic high school in the Shreveport area, welcoming young men and women alike. The merger of Jesuit High School and St. Vincent’s Academy continued a legacy of excellence in academics, athletics, and extracurricular opportunities that remains vibrant today.
Loyola is sponsored by the Diocese of Shreveport and serves approximately 425 students from diverse backgrounds, creating a rich environment where our students thrive. Here, our Catholic identity is not just spoken but lived daily. We pray together, learn together, and serve one another and our community. Our mission is to form intellectually competent, faith-filled, just, and respectful young men and women who will lead and serve for the greater glory of God.
At Loyola College Prep, we are filled with gratitude and anticipation each school year as we welcome new opportunities to grow together. From the moment you step onto our campus, you can feel the unique spirit of this place—rooted in faith, shaped by tradition, and energized by our incredible students, faculty, and families. Loyola is more than a school; it is a mission-driven community where Christ is at the center of everything we do. We strive not only for academic success but also to help our students grow into people of faith, character, and compassion, living out St. Paul’s words: “Let all that you do be done in love” (1 Corinthians 16:14).
Our success comes from committed faculty and staff, engaged students, and supportive families, alumni, and friends.
Together, we celebrate accomplishments like:
- Over 340 college credit hours earned by our students through dual enrollment.
- 39 AP Scholars earning more than $5.6 million in college tuition equivalents.
- ACT scores exceeding state and national averages.
- Graduates earning over $7.3 million in scholarships and awards (not including TOPS).
- Active participation in a wide range of extracurricular and service opportunities.
I am excited for the opportunities this new chapter will bring—moments of growth, joy, and discovery, and countless reminders of God’s presence in our daily lives.
Let us show you the extraordinary opportunities that await at Loyola. Opportunities that will give you the confidence, motivation, and spiritual foundation to do great things in life…all for the greater glory of God.
