Announcements for 4/28/25 - B Day
LUNCH: Students must order lunch a week in advance via a Google form here: Week of 05.05.2025 – 05.09.2025. https://forms.gle/KV9ktnhJPAXE6LXG9 - The deadline to order meals for the week is FRIDAY at 2:30pm. Funds will be deducted from the student/faculty My School Bucks account. **Orders are charged even if they are not picked up. ** Orders must be placed from the student’s Loyola Google account/email. Orders not picked up by the 2nd half of lunch will be made available for sale. If you will be late due a meeting, test, etc, please arrange to have your lunch picked up. Due to our vendor agreement with our Cafe provider, fast food or delivery are not allowed. Lunch should either be ordered from the Cafe, or brought from home. No exceptions.
MAY CROWNING: In the Catholic faith, the month of May is dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary. On May 1st @ 7:30 am, we will begin our monthly celebration with the Crowning of Mary and with prayer. Faculty, staff, and students are invited to honor Mary by bringing flowers and roses to place before her. We will meet at the Mary statue, in the small Memorial Garden in front of the Residence Building, and pray 3 Hail Marys for an increase in faith, hope, and charity.
TRACK: Congratulations to the girls’ track team for placing 3rd overall with 77 points and the boys’ team for placing 4th overall with 66 points at the district championship meet. Carter Ward, Mathis Stanberry, Hollis Brown and Mark Henry placed 1st in the 4x800. Mark Henry placed 1st in the 800. Grace Shepherd placed 1st in the 800. Hayden DeBroeck placed 2nd in pole vault. Joshua Lirette placed 2nd in pole vault. Bella Cascio placed 2nd in the 3200. Reese Jacobs placed 2nd in the 1600. Carter Ward placed 3rd in the 400. Nick Kampert placed 3rd in the 3200. Landry Hooper placed 3rd in high jump. Grace Shepherd, Bella Cascio, Emma Smith and Caroline Walls placed 3rd in the 4x800. Carter Ward, Mark Henry, Mathis Stanberry and Eddie Villalba placed 3rd in the 4x400. Avery Stuermann placed 3rd in the pole vault. Other regional qualifiers with 4th place finishes are Laila Savannah, Ammya Tran, Ainsley Matlock, and Ella Poole in the 4x100, Grace Shepherd, Kathryn Elberson, Emma Smith and Caroline Walls in the 4x400, Jillian Drouillard in javelin, Kathryn Elberson in 300 meter hurdles, Mathis Stanberry in the 800, Tess Tucker in triple jump, Laila Savannah in the 200, and Ellis Wilson in pole vault.
FRENCH CLUB: On Thursday, May 1, during lunch in room 205, there will be a French club meeting. A guest speaker will be speaking, and there will be croissants!
SGA: There is a meet for those interested in running for a SGA Class Officer position for during the first half of lunch in room B3.

VOLLEYBALL: LCP Volleyball Tryouts will be April 29th and 30th from 4-5:30 pm for JV and Varsity. Incoming Freshman tryouts are May 19th from 6-7:30 pm.

SERVICE HOUR OPPORTUNITIES:
SJB VBS: Looking for Mountains of Fun! Volunteer for the Cathedral of St. John Berchmans VBS - True North, Trusting Jesus in a wild world. June 2nd - 6th 2025 8:00 am - 1:00 pm Volunteers are required to attend each day of VBS to help children learn in a fun creative way how we can Trust Jesus in all things. Volunteers can earn up to 20 plus hours, beginning on May 30, 2025, with orientation and volunteering the entire week of VBS.

SJS: Sporting clay tournament at the Shreveport Gun Club to benefit St. Joseph School. Volunteers are needed the day of the event, Saturday May 17. The times for volunteers would be from 11am-1pm.The duties would include calculating scores and picking up spent hulls and signage after the tournament has ended. FOOD BANK: Food Bank of NWLA has a need for volunteers!! We’re reaching out to our amazing community to help fill the gap! Martha's Market and the Senior Box Distribution need volunteers for April!

GARDEN PARK:
The following days are the last Garden Park visits of the school year.
April 30th
May 7th (last day)
Students will receive 2 hours for each of these visits.
Garden Park meets every Wednesday, from 3 pm - 4 pm, at 9111 Linwood Avenue. Each week we participate in different and fun activities with the residents of Garden Park. For more information on this service hour opportunity, please contact Ms. Barker.
