Loyola College Prep is proud to announce the completion of the newly renovated Jesuit Hall, formerly known as the Residence Hall, marking a significant milestone in the school’s ongoing commitment to modernizing its campus while honoring its rich history and tradition.
The renovation of Jesuit Hall began in 2025 as part of a series of campus improvement projects announced by Loyola College Prep in partnership with the Catholic Diocese of Shreveport. The project was designed to create safe, modern and flexible learning spaces that will serve Loyola students and faculty for generations to come.
Weiland Construction completed a full interior demolition of the more than 20,500-square-foot, four-story building, transforming the historic structure from the inside out. The renovation included significant infrastructure upgrades, a new elevator shaft and two glass-enclosed stairwells.
The revitalized Jesuit Hall now features 13 classrooms, providing updated learning environments equipped with new furniture and modern educational technology. The building also includes student restrooms, a new teacher’s lounge, and a technology room.
The newly renovated chapel in Jesuit Hall will serve as a beautiful, dedicated space for prayer, reflection and worship. Seating approximately 100 people, the chapel will provide students, faculty and guests with a welcoming place to gather in faith, celebrate daily Mass and experience the spiritual foundation that is at the heart of a Loyola education. As Loyola continues its tradition of forming students in faith, character and service, the chapel will be a meaningful space where the school community can pause, pray and grow closer to God.
“Jesuit Hall represents exactly what we hope to accomplish when we invest in Loyola’s future. We are preserving the history and character of our campus while creating spaces that meet the needs of today’s students,” said Dr. Laurie Salvail, principal of Loyola College Prep. “This beautiful renovation gives our students and teachers spaces in which to learn, collaborate, pray and grow. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make this project possible, and we are excited to see Jesuit Hall become such an important part of our campus for years to come.”
The renovation is part of Loyola’s broader efforts to provide a safe, healthy and forward-thinking learning environment while remaining rooted in the school’s more than century-long tradition. Loyola College Prep has served students and families throughout Northwest Louisiana for more than 100 years.
With its renewed spaces and expanded functionality, Jesuit Hall provides a strong foundation for Loyola’s next century of education continuing to blend the school’s historic legacy with innovation and the evolving needs of its students.
