ATTENDANCE REMINDERS: At Loyola, we believe that being present—both physically and spiritually—is part of our mission to form young men and women of faith, scholarship, and service. Louisiana law requires regular attendance, and students may have no more than five non-exempt absences per class each semester. More than five will result in a one-letter grade drop; more than ten will drop the grade two letters.
Doctor’s notes are required for illnesses of more than three consecutive days and for certain check-ins/check-outs. Exempted and Excused absences (doctor’s note, religious observances) do not count toward the limit. Non-exempt (parent note) and unexcused absences—such as trips, family vacations, or personal convenience—do count toward the limit, with unexcused absences earning reduced credit.
Special activities such as equestrian/dance competitions, or other non-school-related competition events require advance approval using the Excused Absence Request Form. Juniors and seniors are allowed two approved college visit days per year, requested in advance using the College Visit Approval Request Form. Both forms are available on the Loyola website and under the Resources tab in the FACTS Family Portal.
All absences should be reported to the school office at (318) 221-2675 after 8 AM or emailed to [email protected]. A parent note alone does not guarantee an excused absence.
PIPELINE ON THE PATIO: We are so excited about this year's Pipeline improvements to make this the best pipeline year yet.
Every home football game, Our Pipeline Leaders will be hosting a student tailgate at 5:30pm.
It's called "Pipeline on the Patio". We will have food and music. After the game, we will be hosting "Party on the Patio" where we will leave the lights on for an hour or more after the game.
All students are encouraged to become members of Pipeline by paying dues. The cost for the entire football season including playoffs is $20.00. The only way to go into the student tailgate area is for your name to be on the "I've paid list".
