LUNCH: Students must order lunch a week in advance via a Google form here: Week of 10.06-10.10.2025.  https://forms.gle/Chpk6BXtGXDrzaWw7  - The deadline to order meals for the week is FRIDAY at 2:30pm. Funds will be deducted from the student/faculty My School Bucks account. **Orders are charged even if they are not picked up. ** Orders must be placed from the students Loyola Google account/email. Orders not picked up by the 2nd half of lunch will be made available for sale. If you will be late due a meeting, test, etc, please arrange to have your lunch picked up. Due to our vendor agreement with our Cafe provider, fast food or delivery are not allowed. Lunch should either be ordered from the Cafe, or brought from home.  No exceptions.

FOOTBALL GAME: The Flyers (4-0) are at home this Friday, October 3! Our Flyers will take on the Minden Crimson Tide (2-2). Kickoff is at 7:00 PM at Messmer Stadium. BOOSTER CLUB TAILGATE: The football booster club will host a tailgate for Flyer families on Friday, October 3rd at Messmer Stadium starting at 5:45pm. Admission is free, but donations are how we cover our costs!!

SGA DIAPER DRIVE: Last week, SGA's diaper drive collected over 3,500 diapers and 12,000 wet wipes in support of Catholic Charities. SGA would like to extend a massive thank you to our Flyer Family for donating and the LCP faculty for their commitment to motivating our students to help those in need.

GIRLS SOCCER: Girls Soccer tryouts will be held this Friday at Messmer from 3pm-4:30pm.  All prospective players should be in attendance.  For questions or if you are unable to attend, please contact Coach Matlock - [email protected]

TENNIS TEAM: There will be a brief meeting after mass Wednesday for anyone who wants to try out for the tennis team. Liston for the announcement after mass.

SWIM TEAM: Swim team will have a meet Saturday 10 am at the Shreveport Y at Preston and Knight. Free admission. Come cheer on the LCP swim team!

FCA: We are excited for our FCA meeting this Thursday! It will be at 7:15 before school in the cafeteria. There will be a bagel bar for breakfast, and Kyle Davis will be speaking! Everyone is welcomed and encouraged to come!

PARENT ROSARY: Please join us for Loyola Parent Rosary Group on Wednesdays at 1:30pm in St. Michael’s chapel. All denominations are welcome! ** This Wednesday we are meeting for fellowship before Rosary Group! We will meet at Ki Mexico at 12pm for lunch and then will go over to Rosary Group.** If you can’t attend, prayer requests can be sent to [email protected] or texted to 318-426-5845.

HOMEROOM CONCESSIONS: Friday we will have concessions during homeroom. Everything is $1.00 - CASH ONLY. Please bring exact change - we will have chips, cookies, homemade sugar cookies, and frosted sugar cookies with sprinkles. This week's concessions proceeds go to Mary's House for Respect Life Month. 

CHRISTMAS CARD CONTEST: 2025 Christmas Card Contest: It’s time to get creative! All Loyola students are invited to submit designs for this year’s official Christmas Card. ST. JOSEPH CATHOLIC CHURCH: We are very excited to have the St. Padre Pio Relics at St. Joseph for veneration October 1st and 2nd from 1 - 8pm each day. We will have a Mass in honor of St. Padre Pio at 6:45pm Thursday evening.

4-H: There will be a 4-H meeting October 6^th during Homeroom in room 203. This is for current members and those interested in joining.

VETERANS DAY CELEBRATION: Loyola College Prep is hosting a Veterans’ Celebration on Tuesday, Nov. 11th - 9:20 a.m. - 10:50 a.m. at Cathedral Of St. John Berchmans. Loyola students will honor our veterans with a Mass, guest speaker and music. There will be a reception following in St. Vincent’s Hall. This celebration is for all parents, family members, alumni and community members. We are asking all LCP families to send in pictures of their veteran family members with the family member's name and branch of service to [email protected]. The pictures will be used in a slideshow during the reception. Deadline to turn in pictures on Friday, Oct. 31st 

SERVICE HOUR OPPORTUNITIES

ELKS CLUB HAUNTED HOUSE: Each year the Elks Lodge #122 hosts a Haunted House for the community.  This year, students have the opportunity to decorate and help with preparing the haunted house for visitors. 

The date for the Haunted House is October 25, so volunteering would take place in the evenings in the week leading up to the event.

GARDEN PARK SERVICE OPPORTUNITY: Garden Park activities are every Wednesday, from 3 pm to 4 pm, at 9111 Linwood Avenue in Shreveport. Each week, residents and students are encouraged to participate in different and fun activities. Students will receive 2 hours for each of these visits.

NORTHWOOD REUNION: Northwood High School is having a class reunion on October 4^th and needs volunteers. The reunion will be at American Legion from 6:00pm – 10:00pm. Contact Mrs. Johnson if interested. 

PAW PRINT SPRINT: St. Mark's Cathedral School Paw Print Sprint 2025 is looking for volunteers for Saturday, October 25.

FOOTBALL CONCESSIONS: Back again this year, the faculty, staff and students will be running the concession stands at Messmer for Football, Soccer and Lacrosse. We are excited about this  opportunity for students to earn service hours and life experience. We are asking students to sign up for games to sell concessions. The attached form is for the 2025 Football season. We will add the Soccer and Lacrosse schedule closer to their season openers. We will have the full concession stand on the Home Team's side and a smaller temporary concession stand on the Visitor's side. 

We are looking forward to a great year.

Football -Students will receive 5 service hours per Varsity game, if they stay the whole game.
