REMINDER: MASS DAY – Wear your FULL Mass Uniform

LUNCH: Students must order lunch a week in advance via a Google form here: Week of 10.20.2025-10.24.2025.  https://forms.gle/xL4joLUB96LpMGEi8  - The deadline to order meals for the week is FRIDAY at 2:00pm. Funds will be deducted from the student/faculty My School Bucks account. **Orders are charged even if they are not picked up. ** Orders must be placed from the students Loyola Google account/email. Orders not picked up by the 2nd half of lunch will be made available for sale. If you will be late due a meeting, test, etc, please arrange to have your lunch picked up. Due to our vendor agreement with our Cafe provider, fast food or delivery are not allowed. Lunch should either be ordered from the Cafe, or brought from home.  No exceptions.

FCA: We are excited for our FCA meeting on Thursday the 16th! It will be at 7:15 before school in the cafeteria. There will be a variety of pastries for breakfast, and Trent Wierick will be speaking! Everyone is welcomed and encouraged to come!

HAPPY BELLYS: Happy Belly’s will be coming to Loyola Friday, October 17. Cash and card will be accepted.

SENIORS: If you are a senior and have not gotten your pictures taken at Harrington House, you need to ASAP. Thank you!

YEARBOOK: Email your favorite pictures to [email protected] of where you traveled to over the summer break, along with the location and your favorite activity you did.

MOVIE NIGHT: SGA is hosting a Movie Night on Saturday, October 25th. We will be showing Ghostbusters! Students should bring their own blanket to sit on. There will also be pizza provided by SGA.

STYLE SHOW SPONSOR TABLES: The 72nd annual Style Show will be held at the Bossier Civic Center on Wednesday, November 12 at 11:30 a.m. If you are interested in purchasing a sponsor table you can use the link below or email Lila Knicely at knicelyl@gmail for more information.  The deadline to purchase a sponsor table is October 10th at 2:30 p.m. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Monday, October 13th and more information will be sent out regarding those sales at that time.

CHRISTMAS CARD CONTEST: 2025 Christmas Card Contest: It’s time to get creative! All Loyola students are invited to submit designs for this year’s official Christmas Card. To enter, email your design to Mrs. Jordan Harris at [email protected] or drop off a physical copy in the Anderson Building by Oct. 17 at 2:30 p.m.

VETERANS DAY CELEBRATION: Loyola College Prep is hosting a Veterans’ Celebration on Tuesday, Nov. 11th - 9:20 a.m. - 10:50 a.m. at Cathedral Of St. John Berchmans. Loyola students will honor our veterans with a Mass, guest speaker and music. There will be a reception following in St. Vincent’s Hall. This celebration is for all parents, family members, alumni and community members. We are asking all LCP families to send in pictures of their veteran family members with the family member's name and branch of service to [email protected]. The pictures will be used in a slideshow during the reception. Deadline to turn in pictures on Friday, Oct. 31st 

FUNDRAISER: Flyer Rack and Roll @ Red River Billiards

Date & Time: Wednesday, December 17th | 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Location: Red River Billiards & Looouisiana Bistreaux  2090 Brookshire Arena Road, Bossier City, LA 

Purpose:
 This fundraiser will support the purchase of dog beds for every classroom, as well as training and ongoing care for Flyer the Beagle, our school’s mascot and therapy dog. 

Event Details:

• All Loyola College Prep students, teachers, faculty and parents are invited to attend. 
• Everyone is invited to Red River Billiards for an afternoon of fun and relaxation.
• Activities include pool games, prizes, food, and soft drinks.
• Tickets: $30.00 per person.
• Students may attend without a parent. 

Why This Matters:

• Promotes student wellness during the stress of exam week.
• Builds community through shared activities and friendly competition.
• Provides direct support for Flyer the Beagle, ensuring that every classroom has a space where students can benefit from his comfort and care.

SERVICE HOUR OPPORTUNITIES

ELKS CLUB HAUNTED HOUSE: Each year the Elks Lodge #122 hosts a Haunted House for the community.  This year, students have the opportunity to decorate and help with preparing the haunted house for visitors. 

The date for the Haunted House is October 25, so volunteering would take place in the evenings in the week leading up to the event.

GARDEN PARK SERVICE OPPORTUNITY: Garden Park activities are every Wednesday, from 3 pm to 4 pm, at 9111 Linwood Avenue in Shreveport. Each week, residents and students are encouraged to participate in different and fun activities. Students will receive 2 hours for each of these visits.

PAW PRINT SPRINT: St. Mark's Cathedral School Paw Print Sprint 2025 is looking for volunteers for Saturday, October 25.

FOOTBALL CONCESSIONS: Back again this year, the faculty, staff and students will be running the concession stands at Messmer for Football, Soccer and Lacrosse. We are excited about this  opportunity for students to earn service hours and life experience. We are asking students to sign up for games to sell concessions. The attached form is for the 2025 Football season. We will add the Soccer and Lacrosse schedule closer to their season openers. We will have the full concession stand on the Home Team's side and a smaller temporary concession stand on the Visitor's side. 

We are looking forward to a great year.

Football -Students will receive 5 service hours per Varsity game, if they stay the whole game.
